Fun on the Ground

You'll receive an event program at the gate that will indicate the locations for all of these special attractions.

The ground portion of the 2011 Wings over Camarillo Airshow will be full of attractions - from the displays and vendors to the planes on static display, there is so much to do and see.  Talk to the pilots of many of the planes!  Visit the WWII Veterans!  Get ready for the afternoon show when you can stand in the flight line and see, hear and feel the planes as they taxi by.

Aviation Exhibits

Although the Commemorative Air Force museum is closed during the Air Expo, the Gift Shop, on the ramp at the hanger doors, will be fully stocked with plenty of aviation-related articles for sale. You will also be able to get up close and personal with their warbirds in restoration, including: North American SNJ-4 Texan; Fairchild F-24 Argus; Curtiss C-46 Commando China Doll; Supermarine Spitfire Mk XIVe; and North American PBJ-1J (B-25).

Special Exhibits

The Wings Over Camarillo event hosts many diverse and exciting groups and exhibits.

Members of the Ventura Chapter of the 99s, the national female pilot organization, host the morning pancake breakfast that is a traditional "must". Visit the VC99s booth to learn more about the opportunities for women in aviation, and to sign up for their terrific Silent Auction and Raffle.

Each year, the Santa Paula Museum and Airport bring wonderful antique and modern aircraft to display.

WWII Aces & Pilots

Visit with World War II fighter aces, pilots and combat photographers. Up near the flight line, a hangar is set aside to provide a welcoming place for these military heroes to talk with you and show you their memorabilia.  The pilots you’ll meet flew A-20, A026, B-17, B-24, P-26, C-46, P-40, P-47, P-51 He-111, and many other aircraft.

Airplane and Helicopter Rides

Food

Breakfast, lunch, snacks, or an early dinner... we've got you covered! You'll have lots of options.  Start your day with the pancake breakfast sponsored by the Ventura County 99s.  We have a variety of food vendors for larger meals, lighter fare, or a quick energy snack.

Your selection of gifts and souvenirs will be larger than ever this year! Toys for the kids, aviation art and books, clothing, collectibles, sunglasses, tools…you’ll enjoy browsing and shopping with these vendors! 

Be tempted by the silent auction and raffle, hosted by the Ventura County 99s!  Many valuable prizes have been donate d by area merchants... take advantage of this great gift opportunity for someone special (or for yourself).
